Notes on Fluid Mechanics is a visual essay investigating the notion of fluidity and its liminal, ambiguous and relational qualities. Started just before the first lockdown in 2020, the original plan for this non-narrative film was thwarted by the ensuing confinement. Reflecting on this idea of failure and the ‘missing’ images and voices, Notes on Fluid Mechanics evolves into a film in spare parts that invites the viewer to make connections. The final piece is a hybrid collection of sound, moving image and text, unresolved and endlessly becoming.
